Аннотация Based on the published data the role of inflammation in development of pneumonia has been discussed. The role of inflammatory mediators and laboratory markers for diagnostics of community acquired pneumonia is evaluated, as well as prognostic role of different biomarkers of inflammation, available for clinical laboratories, but not widely used in daily clinical practice. Influence of Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids on inflammatory processes and possibilities to use them in the treatment of community acquired pneumonia is also discussed in the study.
