Аннотация In the present article the comparative analysis of social and e conomic development of regions during market transformations is given Within the offered work dynamics of an indicator of the gross regional product which allows to estimate regional development is investigated. Within the conducted research development o f regions of the North Western Federal district, and also certain regions of other districts of the Russian Federation is analysed.
