Amateur’s discussion continued. Part 2. About illegal use of Fick's second law in its current form to mass transport in solids
Аннотация We present evidence that the second Fick's law in its classical form is not able to describe the characteristics of mass transfer in solids. It is shown that the development of technologies such as a waveguide fiber, thin layer chromatography, the doping of semiconductors by introducing other elements into the surface would have been impossible if we use classical Fick's second law. However, a more general solution to diffusion, wherein the second Fick's law is only a special case of it, just can explain the patterns observed in experiments. Graphs and reference to the experimental work for obtaining the optical fiber based on glass and receiving various types of semiconductors, which can only be described in a more general solution diffusion. It is suggested that the results should be considered in the description of the geological processes in the Earth's crust, as in a constrained chromatography adjacent layers of substances will interact slightly differently than if it was only classic Fick's second law.
