Аннотация The article is devoted to consideration of approaches of the modern foreign historiography in studying of the Czechoslovak legion in Russia. Special attention is devoted to the modern Czech and Slovak historiography, which undergone the most interesting transformations in connection with the “velvet revolutions” in East Europe and other political events in the Czechoslovakia. Moreover, the peculiarities of the approaches is considered in correlation with the ones of the modern Russian and American historiography, traditionally shown interest to history of the legion. The article reveals differences and similarities in approaches of the modern foreign and Russian historiography. The modern foreign, especially Czech and Slovak, historiography is studied the history of the legion like one of the most important element in the struggle for independent Czechoslovak state. The modern Russian historiography is studied a history of the legion in context of the Civil War in Russia. Should be said, that both foreign and Russian historiography is studied, the mainly, diplomatic and military history of the legion
