Аннотация The article is devoted to the first democratic elections in the history of Russia — the electoral campaign on the elections in the direct dumas of Petrograd in May 1917. All metropolitan organizations of the Socialist parties took the active participation. The Bolsheviks refused from bloc with another socialist parties. At that time the Mensheviks and the Socialist-revolutionaries joined in the united bloc, which received the great support of population. The elections finished by the convincing victory of the socialist bloc. The electoral campaign in the Russian capital demonstrated the broad support to the united socialist force
