Аннотация This paper is an extraction of a comprehensive analysis of Russia's transition process and focuses in particular on the developments of regional Technical Efficiency, Technological Change, and Total Factor Productivity. The present analysis covers the transition of Russia's industry and agriculture over the period from 1993 to 2000 at a regional level. Thereby, following questions are considered: does a common transition path exist for Russia; what regional and sectoral trends can be recognized; and, however, do the Russian region's economic performances (TFP) converge or diverge? These questions are answered on the basis of Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA) of the considered sectors of Russia's economy
