Postdoctoral Scientist -Stem Cell Biology

A three year position is available in the laboratory of Dr Georges Lacaud to study the role of the transcription factor AML1/Runx1 in early haematopoietic development and how alterations of its function leads to leukaemogenesis. AML1/Runx1 is a frequent target of gene rearrangements and mutations in human Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) and Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) and also a master regulator of haematopoietic stem cells development. The in vitro differentiation system based on mouse Embryonic Stem (ES) cells and in vivo approaches will be used. Selected references: Lancrin et al., (2009) Nature. Sroczynska et al.,(2009) Blood.
The successful applicant should have a PhD in cellular biology or molecular biology. A background in haematopoiesis, immunology, leukaemogenesis or developmental biology is desirable but not required.
