Postdoctoral Research Fellow in
Cell Interactions and Cancer Group
(3 Year fixed term)

A 3 year postdoctoral position is available at the MRC Clinical Sciences Centre to work in the Cell Interactions and Cancer group headed by Dr. Simona Parrinello. The group studies the cellular and molecular mechanisms of cell-cell communication in tissue regeneration and cancer with an emphasis on the regulation of gene expression by Eph/eprhin signalling in cell sorting and boundary formation.

Main research projects in the lab include regulation of Sox2 transcription factor by EphB signalling in peripheral nerve regeneration, post-translational regulation of Sox2 in progenitor cells and roles of Eph/ephrin signalling between cancer cells and their microenvironment in stromal-rich tumours.

Applicants should have or shortly be awarded a Ph.D. degree in a relevant biological discipline. Expertise in molecular biology and biochemistry techniques as well as experience with mammalian cell culture is required. A background in cell signalling and/or cancer biology is desirable.
