A 3 year postdoctoral position is available at the MRC Clinical Sciences Centre to work in the Gene Regulation and Chromatin Group headed by Professor Niall Dillon. The group studies genetic and epigenetic mechanisms of transcriptional regulation during differentiation from the embryonic stem cell through to terminally differentiated cell types.
The post-holder will contribute to the work of the group by carrying out research on the role of epigenetic modifications and regulators in cell differentiation and the interactions between these modifications and lineage-specific transcription factors. Understanding how signaling pathways interact with epigenetic regulators will also be an important goal of the project. The key responsibilities of the post holder will be research contributions to the core program of the Gene Regulation and Chromatin Group and to aspects of laboratory infrastructure, development of experimental protocols and training of staff and students and providing advice and information to PhD students in the group.
The CSC is an Institute funded by the MRC and is a Division of the Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College. Based on the Hammersmith Hospital Campus in West London (W12), the CSC has first class facilities and provides investigators from clinical and basic science backgrounds with the opportunity to pursue innovative, multidisciplinary research within the established clinical base of Imperial College. For more information, visit www.csc.mrc.ac.uk.
The appointee will develop research projects as part of the group
