Do you want to do a phD/postdoc on innovation management in one of the most remote yet exciting places in the world? Chile’s economy at this very moment is making a transition from resource-based to innovation-based. This is an ideal place if you are interested in relating the theory and the practice of innovation.

Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile ranks among the top Latin American institutions, and it is inviting candidates for Postdocs and PhDs.

The value proposition includes:

  • Working in Chile’s best university with the country’s best students (top 1%).
  • Building international experiences in a politically stable country with high economic growth focused on innovation.
  • Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile has extensive exchange agreements with universities in other parts of the world, and the doctoral students can opt to take courses (in English) in other universities for a year.
  • The postdoc position is for 10 months, starting after April 2011, with a monthly salary up to US$ 1600. (as a reference, the rent for a 4-bedroom house with 3 parking lots near the University is about US$ 600 per month).
  • The PhD positions are for 4 years, starting in August 2011 with a monthly scholarship up to US$1200.

Requirements:
Candidates should have a record of excellence in, or potential for, scholarly research and publication in leading academic journals on topics related to innovation management. Being able to speak Spanish in the middle term is desirable, but not a requirement. Being fluent in English (writing and speaking) is compulsory.

  • The doctoral applicants are expected to publish in ISI index journals as part of the formal requirement for issuing doctoral degrees in the university.
  • To apply for the postdoc positions, prior publication record in ISI index journals is required. The successful applicant is expected to publish at least 1 ISI index journal during her/his postdoctoral period.
