Summary:
The Thematic Project “Generation of Alcohol Production Scenarios as Support for the Formulation of Public Policies Applied to the Adaptation of the National Sugar and Alcohol Industry to Climate Changes(www.cpa.unicamp.br/sugarcane_fapesp)” , supported by the FAPESP Research Program on Global Climate Change - RPGCC “, has a postdoctoral position available for a period of 24 months, at the Center for Meteorological and Climate Researches Applied to Agriculture (Cepagri), State University of Campinas.

The selected researcher will be responsible for the combination of data and information available in several formats, patterns, scales and technical characteristics (such as climatic, agricultural, demographic, public policy, land use, genetic engineering, food security and science and technology policy), in order to develop scenarios of climate change impacts. These scenarios will be used as support for the formulation of public policies to adapt the national industry of sugar and alcohol industry to climate changes. This will be a strategic activity of the Project, since it will be the link between the different knowledge areas involved in the Project.

The candidate should have experience in modeling (mathematical and environmental) and geo-technologies (mainly remote sensing and geo-referenced information systems), and be able to multi and interdisciplinary work, as this will be needed for the development of its activities. It should also be fluent for making oral presentations and write scientific articles in English.

c) Two letters of recommendation.
