A senior postdoc (“experienced researcher”) position is available at BRFAA (http://www.bioacademy.gr/) as part of the FP7 Infrastructure grant “TRANSMED” (Translating basic research findings in major human diseases: emphasis on obesity, metabolic syndrome and neurodegeneration) (http://www.bioacademy.gr/transmed).
Candidates should have a PhD in Bioengineering, Bioinformatics, or related disciplines, and experience in data analysis and systems modeling. Experience in signal processing, pattern recognition, predictive modeling, dynamical systems, and programming in Matlab will also be an advantage.
The successful candidate will collaborate with members of the TRANSMED consortium on translational medicine projects and (i) provide expertise in bioinformatics data analysis, data mining, and simulation methods to formulate new hypotheses based on the integration heterogeneous data sources (genomic, proteomic, imaging), (ii) provide expertise for the development of a translational bioinformatics platform supporting the full research cycle of storage, integrative data analysis/visualization: from databases of clinical and molecular data to pathway analysis, network inference, mathematical model building for in-silico prediction.
