-Opportunity to work on an ARC grant funded project investigating competitive supplier bidding in supply chains
-Full-time, fixed term up to 18 months or Part-time (0.75FTE), fixed term up to 2 years (with possibility of extension)
-Attractive remuneration package: $73.2K to $99.4K for full-time appointment (which includes salary, leave loading and up to 17% super)

The University of Sydney Business School is part of Australia’s premier University with an outstanding global reputation for academic and research excellence. The School is arranged in a number of Discipline areas and this position is within the Discipline of Business Analytics (formerly Operations Management and Econometrics).

The Postdoctoral Research Associate role is funded by an Australian Research Council Discovery Grant to investigate competitive supplier bidding in supply chains, and the work is being led by Professor Eddie Anderson.

As the Postdoctoral Research Associate you will:
-work with business to understand the decisions taken when choosing between alternative suppliers, including undertaking fieldwork research
-set up mathematical models of the process of bidding for work from the supplier’s perspective
-design and carry out choice experiments and analyse data (under supervision)
-liaise with and provide advice to, a range of internal and external stakeholders regarding the study
-write research papers and reports
-deliver conference and other presentations.

To be successful in this position you will have:
-a PhD (or substantial progress towards a PhD) in Operations Management, Management Science, Applied Mathematics or a related field
-highly developed research skills
-evidence of your potential to publish research outcomes in high-quality international journals
-excellent communication and team work skills including the ability to manage relationships with external organisations.

It will be an advantage for you to have previous experience in industry supply issues.
