Development of novel high-temperature inorganic pigments.

Аннотация A number of inorganic pigments including a few compounds obtained for the first time were synthesized using new and optimized existing methods. A temperature interval of the synthesis is 700-1100°C, a time interval is 8-12 hours, that is acceptable for the semiindustrial production. Inorganic pigments containing d-elements are used in a building industry, paint and varnish industry and painting. More particularly iron, cobalt, copper, chromium and manganese ions or complexes are used as chromophores. An inorganic pigments chemical composition causes such properties as thermostability, corrosion and chemical stability, colour. Pigments that we investigated have a structural types of well-known mineral forms like spinel MIIAII2O4, apatite MII5(AVO4)3L, hollandite MI2AIII2Ti6O16, phoenicochroite. For the first time a crystal structure of several pigments was refined using full-profile X-ray diffraction analysis. Phase transitions, thermal stability and thermal expansion of all pigments synthesized were studied using differential scanning calorimetry and high-temperature X-ray diffraction method. All of the studied compounds were investigated using methods of IR and Raman spectroscopy in interval of wavenumbers 4000-50 cm-1, a factor-group analysis was also done. For the pigments an exploration of visible region spectra has a big practical application. For this purpose we recorded diffuse reflectance spectra of the most of studied compounds. Types of transitions which are causes specific colour of pigments were ascertained. Making of luminous paint containing compounds of radioactive elements is of interest for dyeing of different objects, particularly road signs, which must be seen in darkness.
